Fishing Report
tuna dolphin and wahoo in the afternoon
Yesterday afternoon was excellent for fishing, the wind dropped
favorably. We were fishing at least 10 miles offshore looking for
birds and seaweed lines. We found a nice flock of birds working the
bait fish and managed to catch a few blackfin tuna.
I saw another flock a mile away, upon reaching the birds we
hit a wahoo. We circled around and found a large coiled rope filled with bait fish, sharks, dolphin and wahoo. We trolled
around and bait casted for the bigger fish.It was all action for an
hour straight. We got our quota of fish (18) .
So, guys the fish are around Nassau The short cold fronts
blowing in from the north bring in alot of seaweed and floating debris and plendy of fish. The coming months should be pretty good with lots of action.
The billfish should soon show up. The pocket near Chub Cay should be hot. I will be going there next weekend and I'll give you the results. For now I will try to keep updating on whats going on with the fishing around Nassau.
I have been using Shimano and Penn reels, 30#and 50# test line. Trolling with lures rigged with ballyhoo and cedar plugs for tuna.
Today was slow for me but a few dolphin were caught in the area. The breeze kicked up a bit and scattered the seaweed everywhere making it a little harder to work the seaweed lines.
So until my next trip, be well and be sure to check back and see whats being caught around Nassau and the surrounding islands
